Top 5 basketball coaches teach kids basketball while shedding light on Florida’s dark human trafficking secret: Florida has the second highest incidence of human trafficking in the United States. Miami Airport is one of the top entry points for victims.

BOCA RATON, Fla.–Managed Maintenance, Inc., a South Florida based technology company is pleased to announce they will be co-sponsoring “Reach.Achieve.Believe”, a hands-on, basketball clinic for youth grades 5-10. The clinic supports the “2012 Freedom Climb”. By climbing to the Summit of Mt. Kilamanjaro 42 women from across the globe will raise awareness and financial support for women and children being oppressed, enslaved, exploited and trafficked. Boca Raton resident, Debbie Dingle, is one woman committed to making the climb.

“Knowing Debbie personally and seeing her dedication and sacrifice to support this cause, I wanted to garner local support and generate funds that advance the initiatives of the Freedom Climb,” stated MMI CEO & President, Tina Lux-Boim. Lux-Boim and husband David enlisted the support of family, friends, employees, industry peers, and local coaches to help organize the upcoming event that will educate middle and high school youth on what it takes to play competitive basketball.

Top HS and College Coaches in South Florida will speak on conditioning, nutrition and offer hands-on drills that youth can practice at home to prepare them for competitive basketball in high school. Scott McMillan, Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Lynn University is joined by HS Varsity Coaches John Jones, Spanish River HS; Nhu Nguyen, Boca Community HS; and Marty Seidlin, Cardinal Gibbons HS.

This clinic will be held at 3:00pm on October 23, 2011 at Lifetime Fitness in Boca Raton. There is a suggested $20 charitable donation to attend, and all proceeds will go directly to supporting the eradication of human trafficking and the initiatives of The Freedom Climb. MMI includes charitable giving as one of its annual goals and commitments and has received the support and participation of employees.
